Smokehouse is a local gastropub specialising in smoked & grilled meats. We focus on delicious, seasonal food from great suppliers alongside craft beers, hand-pulled local ales and an exclusively European wine list from only family vineyards. The menu will be created by Executive Chef Neil Rankin, who learnt his trade at Barbecoa, as Head Chef at Pitt Cue Co, and then later at John Salt. Seasonality and outstanding produce will be at the very heart of Smokehouse Chiswick, and Neil’s cooking will celebrate small farms, and rare-bread meat such as Highland and Dexter cattle that will be butchered on site.
Signature dishes will include; Rock oysters with beef dripping; Chopped brisket roll with gochujang; Burnt leeks with slow cooked egg; Smoked lamb shoulder with polenta and raclette; and the much loved Shortrib bourguignon. Come Sunday, Smokehouse Chiswick will serve it’s famed Sunday roast - think Sunday newspapers, a Bloody Mary in hand and dishes such as Pork rib eye & smoked shoulder with all the trimmings and crown roasted Chicken for 2 to share.
The space will comprise a pub, dedicated whisky room, and dining room that will open up on to a paved terrace and lawn, planted with beds of rosemary and a pergola covered with roses. Decorated in shades of white and greys the interiors will draw on country lodge references, coupled with traditional pub elements. An oak-topped bar, backed with an original leaded-glass window, will be stocked with bottles and over-hung with industrial pendant lamps. There will be a double-sided fireplace with a roaring wood-burner, tongue and groove cladding will panel the walls, and there will be bronze lights and reclaimed chandeliers. Tables will be scrubbed pine, with seating of long church pews covered with reindeer hides, and wooden bentwood chairs.
The Whisky room, will be a cosier affair with dark, oak paneled walls adorned with antler and roe deer heads, leather wingback chairs, and an open fire. The menu will list more than 100 varieties - from Scottish and Japanese Whisky, to Whiskey from America and Ireland. Exclusively European, the wine list is comprised of small, family owned growers and will features 50 bins, beginning at £3.75 for a glass, and £17.95 for a bottle. Front of house service will be attentive and informative, yet unfussy and informal.
Following on the success of the original Islington branch, the guys behind Smokehouse, Islington, open up a West London branch. An absolute mecca for those who are fans of BBQ Cuisine, Smokehouse Chiswick, opens up in a cosy pub – providing you with the perfect setting for putting your feet up and nursing those meat sweats. The menu is one of the most mouth-watering you’re likely to find and the traditional British pub setting caps off an absolute super spot.
